“ Steve Horowitz in the new car sales department is a true class act and real professional all the way! My situation will speak to just how high his character and integrity really are. A few days ago I worked with Steve over the phone to locate a specific 2026 Grand Highlander in a certain color and interior that I had to have. Additionally, I needed a factory OEM tow hitch to be installed. Steve went above and beyond to contact the Toyota manufacturing facility in order to remove a number of pre-ordered options that I didn’t really care for, and furthermore to add the hitch that was essential to me. This took not only an extra step on his part, but also required numerous back and forth communication with him and I to see if it was even at all possible at this stage in production. In order to proceed a small $500 deposit was collected over the phone. The delivery of the vehicle was anticipated for early July. Yesterday morning I received a call from another dealer that I had spoken with late last week regarding the same car. Initially, that Highlander had already been reserved, however, I was notified yesterday that the transaction had fallen through. The difference here was that this dealer had the car on the lot and with everything I needed. Because of a situation that our family was in, with our Acura MDX having mechanical issues, we were planning on using my work sedan for a long family vacation next week. The reality of things was that this wasn’t ideal. As terrible as I felt knowing that I was potentially going to have to back out of the deal with Steve and now proceed with the new option—it just had to be done and was better suited for our family and trip. Last night we brought home that other car and this morning I noticed Steve of the news. I commend Steve for his understanding and professionalism upon learning of our change of plans. Without hesitation he agreed to not only refund the deposit, but genuinely understood our bit of a bind that we were in and held no hard feelings whatsoever.
